Theatre Kingston

EVERY DAY ABOVE GROUND
Feb. 28 to Mar. 11, 2007
(inspired by The Collected Works of Billy the Kid by Michael Ondaatje)

Since Theatre Kingston presented their production of Hatched in 2003, SaBooge Theatre has gone on to win awards and accolades in New York, Dublin, London, Toronto and Montreal. We are proud to present their latest creation, in which SaBooge’s trademark visual storytelling, live music and innovative sound design are matched with Ondaatje's rich literary investigation of one of the most volatile and grotesque figures in western mythology. Memory, madness, violence and survival are all compellingly explored in this visually and aurally intriguing work.

CANDIDA
Apr. 11 to 22, 2007
by Bernard Shaw
Directed by CRAIG WALKER.

In this classic comedy, the Rev. James Morrell, is a charismatic public speaker who regularly converts his listeners with passionate arguments in favour of his advanced political views. He is happily married to the charming and beautiful Candida. One day she comes home with the romantic and sensitive young aristocratic poet, Marchbanks, whom Morrell had rescued months before when he was found sleeping on the Thames Embankment. When Marchbanks confesses to Morrell that he is in love with Candida, a confrontation is inevitable, and Candida finds herself forced to choose between the two men in one of Shaw’s most brilliantly written and moving scenes.
