Moleman Productions, Erika Batdorf’ s company is looking for 6 performers for a show that will be created as an ensemble, based on two incidents that coincided in July 1848-
A well know Iranian Poet, Tahirih, who unveiled herself in public in Iran during the same two weeks that the Seneca Falls Convention happened (considered the most important first public event in the American Women’s movement). This show will be in development for some time and will rehearse in two- three week chunks- the first rehearsal period is December 08.
Looking for:
-One Iranian female actor between 30-60 who can sing/chant in Farsi, to play Tahirih and be in the female chorus
-One Caucasian female actor between 30-50 to play Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Stanton and be in the female chorus
-One female actor of African descent or First Nations between 30-60 to play Sojourner Truth/Beah Richards, and the female chorus and ideally can play a drum of some kind
-One Iranian male actor between 30-50 who can play an instrument drums ideally) and be in the male chorus- ideally a strong mover
-One male actor of African descent between 30-50 to play Frederick Douglas, an 1848 Ethiopean slave in Iran and be in the male chorus. Ideally is a performance poet of some kind and/or a strong mover
-One Caucasian male actor between 30-50 to play James Mott, and in the male chorus – MUST have dance or physical theatre skills!
